School Choice Workshops

Assisting Students and Families in Navigating the School Choice Process

In response to the confusion parents expressed about school choice during the listening campaign for our 2017 report, Calculated Choices, the Fund worked with an experienced school counselor and a parent to develop a workshop to help parents and students navigate the school choice process. Workshops are available to groups of three or more City Schools parents or students at a time and location convenient for them. During the 2019-2020 school year, the Fund also piloted a school choice program in partnership with James McHenry Elementary/Middle School to ensure their 7th and 8th graders were well-informed and prepared for the school choice process.

For the 2020-2021 school year, we hosted virtual workshops for organizations and schools. Please scroll down to find helpful resources related to the school choice process. To request a workshop at your school, please click below to fill out the form.
