Mark your calendars! The 2023 Heart of the School Award principal nominations open Sunday, January 1, 2023 and run through January 31st.
Anyone – student, parent, school staff, community member or organizational leader – can nominate a principal they would like to see honored at the Heart of the School Awards – the annual event coordinated by the Fund for Educational Excellence that celebrates Baltimore City Public School principals for their tireless work on behalf of students and families. Register for Our January School Choice Workshops
Spanish Workshop – Wednesday, January 4th at 6:30 pm
To all parents and guardians: Please join the Fund for Educational Excellence for our School Choice Workshop on Wednesday, January 4th at 6:30pm. This workshop will be presented in Spanish. The Fund is a local nonprofit that supports Baltimore City Public Schools and students in several ways, including holding school choice workshops for parents and students for the past five years. These are free to schools and families.
WHO: For any and all Baltimore City Public Schools students and/or their parents or guardians
WHAT: School choice workshop, running 60-90 minutes
WHEN: Wednesday, Jan. 4th at 6:30pm
WHERE: Virtual, on zoom.
WHY: To help City Schools families navigate the school choice process

During the workshops, we cover:
- The middle school and high school choice process
- The current composite score formula
- Academic programs available to students (The Ingenuity Project, career & technical education, P-Tech, etc.)

The Annual Heart of the School Holiday Celebration is Back!

This festive evening is an opportunity for principals and district leaders to come together, relax and celebrate their hard work with colleagues – no program, just fun.
